Commercial Refrigeration OEM & Retrofit
Refrigeration systems run 24/7, so the electricity meter turns non-stop. Supermarkets alone can attribute up to 60% of their operating costs to electricity dedicated to refrigeration.
Microstaq’s Silicon Expansion Valve (SEV) and Super Heat Controller (SHC) based superheat control system improves not only energy efficiency in commercial refrigeration applications, but increases compressor life as well. Tight, repeatable superheat and suction header control ensures that liquid does not reach the compressor, while also increasing efficiency of the evaporator. This results in improved consistency of display case temperature and pressure which means improved product shelf-life. Simply put: precise super heat control helps the compressor run less, increases system efficiency, and prolongs system life.
OEM
The SEV and SHC can be designed into refrigeration systems and can be configured to run either autonomously from a central control unit, or as an integrated sub-system of the refrigeration system. Because of the “plug n’ play” nature of the valve and controller, a variety of systems can be addressed with the same SEV and SHC. This includes single and multi-evaporator systems with t-stat, EPR, and EEPR, in low, medium, and high temperature applications. This also produces improved interaction and compatibility with components such as EPR, EEPR, and solenoids. In addition, faster pull-down, higher efficiency and environmentally sound systems can be developed. Ideal applications include:

Retrofits
On the retrofit side, Microstaq’s refrigeration retrofit kit can be installed in less than an hour by a contractor, increasing the efficiency and extending the life of existing systems. This “plug n’ play” solution can address a variety of systems with the same SEV and SHC. This includes single and multi-evaporator systems with t-stat, EPR, and EEPR, in low, medium, and high temperature applications. Supermarkets, Quick Service Restaurants, and the refrigerated truck industry can all benefit from the lower operating costs as a result of this simple retrofit process.
